How to prepare your photos for scanning

To prep your photos for your digital scans, just follow these steps - it'll make your order super smooth.

  • Remove all photos from albums, envelopes, paper boards, plaques, or frames.
  • Do not send any pictures with glue or sticky material.
  • Make sure no staples, paper clips, post-it notes, etc are attached.
  • Photos can be as small as passport size and no larger than A4 paper.
  • It's helpful if you sort the photos into bundles of the same size, but it's not mandatory.
  • Photographs cannot be thicker than a modern Polaroid picture.
    • The Polaroid is the thickest photograph we can accept for scanning.
    • Many older (1960's era) Polaroid's were mounted on cardboard. These old Polaroid's are too thick and cannot be scanned. Though if you have some you’d like scanned, get in touch with us for a consultation.
  • Newspaper clippings, laminated images cannot be scanned.
  • Odd-shaped photographs may be able to be scanned for an additional fee. You can include them in the box, if we can’t scan them we won’t charge you.
  • We cannot scan copyrighted material that you do not own the copyright for.
